The Tastiest Indian Food in the Coachella Valley

One of our very favorite restaurants is the Delhi Palace, Cuisine of India in Palm Springs, California. Dining at Delhi Palace is like taking a trip to India and eating at one of the best Indian restaurants in New Delhi, the capital of India. The Delhi Palace offers a delightful and tasty assortment of foods that tempt your olfactory and gustatory senses, using a broad array of seasonings and spices from the many regions of India.

Owned by Ravi Singh, the Delhi Palace, has been serving Palm Springs in the same location since 1989. Executive Chief Sumit Chowdhary, sports a Culinary Arts Degree and worked as Chef and then Executive Chef at the Marriott Taj Hotel in New Delhi, India. Together, Ravi and Sumit, create an extraordinary team with more than 30 years of cooking experience and 12 years of restaurant management experience.

"Upon taking over the Delhi Palace Cuisine of India," says Ravi, AI entirely refurbished the restaurant, I created a modern first class bar, brought in many new wine selections and the best of both Indian and U.S. beers. Even with our entirely new look, Ravi continues, "the Delhi Palace continues to serve the finest quality Indian food in the Coachella Valley."

DelhiPalace11-13-09-032-1BSmall"Our goal at the Delhi Place is to create an authentic and delicious taste of India," says Ravi. "I started in the restaurant business in 1998 at the bottom and rapidly 'learned' my way to the top." Ravi was working in the Delhi Palace and was laid off. It was at that moment he told himself,  "I'm going to buy this place one day." And so he did.

Born in India, Ravi, loves and understands good Indian food and the proper balance of aromatic seasonings and herbs. He wanted to be in the restaurant business so it was a natural for him to make his dream come true. When asked why he ultimately bought Delhi Place during this waning economy Ravi answered, "There is never a bad time to do what you really want. We just have to work a little harder to be successful. I will keep my doors open and we will be successful!"

DelhiPalace11-13-09-052-1BSmallThe Delhi Place is special. Not only is their food aromatically delightful, but also because they have one of the largest selection of specialty vegetarian dishes in the Coachella Valley. On request we can make just about any type of Indian- vegetarian or vegan food anyone could desire. "All you have to do is ask and we can make it for you." "Delhi Palace is special because it actually has a real red clay ceramic Tandoori oven which cooks with charcoal. AThis allows the real flavor of Tandoori cooking to come through so our customers can really enjoy what we cook for them. You have never really experienced ‘Nan’ (Indian bread) until you have tasted it from our Tandoori oven." Says Ravi. We make our bread fresh just for you. We can make bread any way you want it made: Tandoori , Roti (whole wheat), Paratha multi-layer whole wheat bread, Aloo Paratha (stuffed with potato and spices), garlic, onion, cheese, stuffed with minced meat or nuts, cashews and raisins, also poori (deep fried whole wheat puffed).
