Cinch, a new country-western band, debuts at the Tack Room, 81-800 Avenue 51 in Indio near Palm Springs, Calif., at 8 p.m., Sat., Jan. 30. There are not many country-western bands in the area, in fact nearly none! Well, really none come to mind. There are great expectations of and for this new band and it doesn’t look like we will be disappointed. They will play familiar cover tunes with their own twist. If you like to dance to country western then Saturday night at the Tack Room on Jan. 30 is the place to be.

Eric FranksonThe band’s visionary is Eric Frankson. Frankson is well known around the music community in Coachella Valley for his unique musical diversity. He plays with several local bands such as the Desert All Stars and the Old Will Gospel Group. He also is a member of the Coachella Valley Symphony Board & League as a director and is involved with the Youth Symphony. Frankson will play keyboards, fiddle and the mandolin. You might be dazzled!

Johnny PimmJohnny Pimm, well known in country music circles, will play lead guitar and provide vocals.

Dale ScrivnerDale Scrivner will play bass. Scrivner has played with Gregory Johns, Tommy James and locally with the Old Will Gospel Group.

Mike LoweThe drummer is Mike Lowe who also plays with The Petting Zoo. Lowe is accomplished on many instruments — bass guitar, rhythm guitar and keyboards to name a couple. This artist is very quiet but will surprise you with his talent.

Alexandra SeelyeNow the inspiration for this band comes from a newcomer to the Coachella Valley, Alexandra Seelye. She plays an acoustic guitar and has a strong voice that is both delicate and radiant. She has a natural lilt that reminds me of Theresa Brewer. When Frankson heard her sing, he encouraged her to immediately enter in the recent Songwriters Experience Workshop & Contest promoted by the Eagle 106.9, hosted by Danny Sheridan and produced by Robert E. Brondell. Seelye won third place out of 10,000 entrants!

There is no cover charge to come see this band. They will play in an outdoor tent so you may want to bring a light jacket however the tent room does have freestanding heaters.
