Inspiration - Ocean PDF Print E-mail

isabel ansonia6By Isabel O'Brien, Age 10

Childhood is at best a difficult time. Moods swing from ecstatic joy and happiness to deep dark despair sometimes in minutes, some times in hours, sometimes in days. Understand that this is normal and be a place of peace, security and support for your child. If they are gone for while remember they will return, stay with them and do not allow them to feel that they are all alone, unsupported, unloved. Help them not only respect their outer environment but also their inner environment.

We would like to share seven poems written by a 5th grader, Isabel O’Brien. Take from this 10 year old an appreciation of life that can only be found within the mind and heart of a child, enjoy! Be inspired!

Ocean

I am a large ocean
when I'm angry I whirl a whirlpool
It spins and spins sucking up every innocent sea creature
when I'm furious I make a hurricane ruining
every single piece of land as far as the eye can see
when I'm sad I make a 150 ft Tsunami and
drown the surfers who dare surf on me
I may sound like a bad guy but I'm also helpful
When people clean up my beach I make
large safe waves for surfers to ride on
when people fish out those annoying fish I
keep the sharks and stingrays in the depths of the ocean
When people use bug sprays and keep all the bugs out of me
I calm the weather for sailors
Please help me and I'll reward you.
