Allen Lawrence is PalmSpringsGuides Executive Vice-President and Director of Operations. He is the co-founders and co-creators of DesertCitiesGuides.Com and PalmSpringsGuides.Com. Dr. Lawrence started his first Web site in 1992, Wellness on the Web, which recently joined with www.YourPersonalWebMD.Com. Lawrence manages and operates a total of 10 other Web sites besides www.desertcitiesguides.com. Lawrence is also a writer and photographer of note, having published more than 300 articles, four books and more than 2,500 photos. Lawrence has also earned an M.D., a Master of Arts in Nutrition and a Ph.D. in Psychology.
Kip Allen is a professional journalist who worked in both the print and broadcast media. Locally, he was heard on KNWZ and KPSI radio stations, and also worked for The Desert Sun and Palm Springs Life. Kip is now concentrating his efforts in the New Media. He prepares copy and pictures for the Internet and keeps all the Desert Cities Guides-related sites updated. Kip is also a beer aficionado who has been a homebrewer for more than 20 years. He is rated by the Beer Judge Certification Program and judges in sanctioned competitions. His beer review column, “Kip’s Quaffs,” appears in Desert Cities Dining. In addition, he is technical editor for the Harpoon naval warfare simulation and a reviewer for Mac Gamer. He has a B.A. degree in mass communications from Southern Illinois University and a masters in journalism from Northwestern University.
Ken Dow has been a photographer with DesertCiriesGuides and PalmSpringsGuides since their very early days. He took the interest in photogrpahy from his father, a professional photographer and mastered the art with thousands of great photos on his own. Ken likes covering "concerts, golf tournaments, animals, strange and odd things, people, cars and trucks." Ken does confess to a preference for concerts. Jace Edwards is a contributing writer to Palm Springs Guides with a focus on hiking and the numerous trails the Coachella Valley has to offer. He is also profiles local musicians.
John Garber has have been a professional photographer for the past five years. He shoots studio portraiture as well as having the capability to move the studio outdoors with portable lighting. Bonnie Gilgallon has been a news anchor/reporter at KNWZ radio for the past 10 years, and is a member of Media Mavens and Palm Springs Women in Film. She hosts "The Desert Scene," an entertainment show on KNWZ every Saturday at 11 a.m. An award-winning stage actress, Bonnie can also be heard singing jazz/pop tunes at local clubs, including Melvyn's, Amore and Tony's Pasta Mia. Her background makes her ideal for covering the local scene for plays clubs and people in the news for PalmSpringsGuides.

Pat Krause has been photographing important events in the desert for 14 years. Although he work is eclectic, she specializes in events such as golf and tennis, and galas, especially for charities. She is also available to photograph private parties.
Pat is one of those fortunate individuals who has successfully combined her passion with her profession.
Lauren Lunstrum is a marketing major a the College of the Desert. She is also a media professional, working for KESQ New Channel 3 doing audio and graphics. Among here many talents, she covers music and entertainment events for Desert Cities Guides. Lauren was an exchange student in Sweden for a year, which piqued her spirit of adventure (not to mention an appreciation for the desert’s weather!).
Philip Moore is a golf coach, clubmaker and author of the popular book, “The Mad Science of Golf.” He gives readers an insight into the Coachella Valley golf scene through covering golf events, interviewing local golf personalities and critiquing local golf courses. In his monthly column, “Moore on Golf,” he offers unique perspectives on golf equipment, the golf swing and the process of playing better golf. Melissa Shoos is a Rancho Mirage resident in love with the desert. Both a writer and photographer, Melissa covers a wide range of events for Desert Cities Guides. A dog lover, (she shares her home with two canine companions, Hannah the shih tzu and Bella the Maltese). She and her furry family members volunteer at Paws & Hearts, an organization that provides pet therapy to retirement homes.
Stephen Torres is a senior staff writer at Desert Cities Guides. He is a candidate for a M.F.A. degree at the University of California, Riverside, Palm Desert campus. Among his other accomplishments, he is an editor for the University’s as-yet unnamed literary journal. In connection with his literary muse, Stephen is working on his first collection of short stories. A music lover, Stephen is an avid concert goer and devotee of the art of boxing.
Laura Beth Peterson was a business manager for more than 20 years before following her muse and becoming a photographer. She’s followed that muse for the last three years and has been shooting local events throughout Southern California and the Pacific Northwest.
Johnny Mirehiel is a 40-year student of spiritual, metaphysical and astrological ideas. A former secondary school teacher and one-time "Man of the Year in Education," he is internationally known as the discoverer of the astrological chart of the Harmonic Concordance moment. He is accredited by The International College of Astrology as both an astrological practitioner and teacher. He now plies his trade in the high desert of Southern California. Elayna Freiberg began working in the beauty industry in 1995. Initially working freelance Elayna worked with several makeup lines, including Estee Lauder, MAC Cosmetics and Christian Dior. Elayna soome became, “Elayna: Makeup Artist on the Go.” She performed hundreds of private consultations, assisted brides, worked on many special events, as well as photo and movie shoots.
